Throughout the course of this internship, I learned many ways that the Heart and Vascular Center serves its patients. Spending time working for the Heart Check program taught me the importance of individual assessments to determine what each person needs to live a more heart-healthy life. Prevention is usually possible with the proper diet and exercise routines. RMH promotes this program to the hospital staff, and many of the staff members participate and find improvements in their health after adopting what they learn in their screenings with the Heart Check Navigator.
Thank you Alpha Phi CoChairs (left to right) Brittney Tardy, Danielle Girard, Alison Parker, Katie Auguilar, and to all of the sorority members for your 2011 gift.
Alpha Phi Sorority of James Madison University has raised $13,575 this year to provide free heart health screenings through the RMH Heart Check program.
